Match an upload form’s requirements

  1. 1Add your photo and check that the 100 KB target is selected.
  2. 2Choose an output format. Automatic mode balances quality and, if needed, reduces resolution.
  3. 3Download the output and check the form’s other requirements, including dimensions and format.

File size is only one requirement

An upload form can require a particular width, height or file type as well as a size limit. A small enough file may still be rejected if its format is wrong.

Here, 1 KB means 1024 bytes, so the 100 KB preset allows up to 102,400 bytes. For a form with a strict 100,000-byte limit, enter 97 KB to leave some room.

Questions about this size limit

Why might a file under 100 KB be rejected?

Check its format and dimensions. Some sites also count a kilobyte as 1000 bytes. For a 100,000-byte limit, you can enter 97 KB instead.

Will the output be exactly 100 KB?

No. This is an upper limit, and the output can be smaller. An original file that already fits can be kept without re-encoding when its format stays unchanged.
